How do you get dried on grease off a frying pan?

My friend fried some chicken in a brand new frying pan a week ago. I assumed she cleaned the pan and put it away. A week later I find it in the stove with the grease still in it. The grease had dripped all down the sides of the pan and dried like that. Now I can’t get it off the outside of the pan.

Hey there!! I’ve been in this predicament b4. I have found like another person stated that heating it up again works quite well. Although in my rendition i will fill pot/pan with water add a bit of dish soap and let it come to a boil. Then allow it to cool ’til U r able to handle scrubbing it in the sink w/o burning yourself on the metal. Another tip is 2 use a scrub brush w/nylon bristles or try a scraper tool-small square w/straight edges on it. Don’t use a butter knife although you may b tempted 2 do so!! You’ll just ruin your cookware. When all else fails use a green scrubby gently. Don’t go using such an abrasive cleaning tool as an SOS pad you’ll do more damage. Anyhoo hope these ideas help U!
