Forest Bear
Is it possible that if you see a bear in the forest and throw him/her food…then the bear won’t attack you?
I guess it’s a dumb question but…what if I see a bear (say a brown bear) in the forest and throw her/him some food – will it attack me after that? Aren’t they more like dogs? 10x!
It is not very likely.
Bears don’t usually charge because they are hungry and wanting to eat you, they charge because they see you as a threat.
As a general strategy it is a bad idea to ever let a bear get human food or garbage. The saying is “A fed bear is a dead bear”. That is because once a bear feeds on human food it is like crack to them. They will want more and keep returning to the area and approaching humans until someday a person with a gun kills it.
